What is the benefit of having a parent account?

With your parent account not only will you be able to keep track of what your child is learning in school, but you will also be able to be participate in their learning by playing the games with them and encouraging them along the way.

If your child does not have an existing Sumdog account from school, you can still set-up a parent account and create a child account for them. You will be able to manage what your child is working on and track their progress through your parent account.

 

Some of the benefits of having a Sumdog parent account are:

1) Parent engagement

You can be actively involved in your child's learning. With your Sumdog parent account not only will you be able to view and track your child's progress but you can play the games with them. 

While using your Sumdog parent City page you will be able to play against your child in the games, competing and motivating them along the way.

2) Monitoring your child's progress

With your Sumdog parent account you will be able to view your child's diagnostic test, the skills they are currently working on and have access to the Fact Families Report, which will let you see their work on their table's skills.

If you have a Sumdog family subscription you will in addition be able to view the family reports which will allow you to track different metrics during your selected time period. You will be able to view which skills your child is struggling with and have access to their proficiency chart.

With these tools you will be able to see how well your child is doing and how far along in the curriculum they are.

3) Setting work for your child

The main feature of Sumdog is that it will adapt to each child's individual level meaning that all children will be working through Sumdog at their own pace.

As part of the family subscription you  will be able to create Assessments, Challenges and Competitions for your child to work through. Within these activities you will be able to select which skills you would like them to focus on while playing the games.

4) Controlling their learning

With your Sumdog you will be able to select what activities or skills your child is working on. You will be able to us the Focus Work page to select which activities you would like your child to work on.

If you have a family subscription you will be able to select if you would like to restrict your child to work on a particular subject for an hour.

By using the Plan work section you will be able to set activities for your child to work on and select the skills you would like them to answer question on. (This is part of the family subscription)

You will also be able to control the amount of access your child has to their Sumdog House when they are at home.
