How to Edit Your Child’s Login Details

My child’s account is linked to a school. How can I edit their username and/or password?

If your child’s account is also linked to a school, only their teacher, or another registered teacher at the school, will be able to edit their login details.

If you need to make any changes to your child’s login details you will need to speak to the relevant teacher in order to have them update the account.

My child’s account is linked only to my family. How can I edit their username and/or password?

Once you have logged into your parent account you will be able to reset your child’s password.

Step 1: Click ‘Settings’ on your parent dashboard. Screenshot__256_1.png
Step 2: Click ‘EDIT’ in the ‘Children’ box. Screenshot__225_2.png

Step 3: Click ‘reset’ under the column named Password.

There may not be an option to reset the password. This means the child’s account is also linked to a school, and a teacher at the school will be required to edit account details.

Example: In the above image the account for the child Kaiden Rider does not have an option to reset the password, as the child is linked to a school. The name of the school which the child account is also linked to will appear under the heading ‘School’.

Can I create a custom username and password for my child?

Parents are not currently able to create a custom username and/or password for their children.

The username relating to a child’s account is generated by Sumdog, and is a unique username which identifies the child and directly links them to the family account in our systems. This cannot be changed as a result.

If your child is also linked to a school account, their teacher is able to create a custom username for them. This is because schools must also key in a unique school code, enabling us to directly link a child’s account to the relevant school regardless of the username.
